nice to meet you

Beyond the Classroom and Birth World

My name is Jamaya (Juh-May-Uh). I am a holistic Doula and student Midwife but I encompass so much more. First, I am a Black Woman, with a love for herbs. I find that there is so much to learn from what naturally grows around us. As a vegan family of 6 that loves to travel, we appreciate being hands on in the fields of abundance. I have 4 little people that call me Mommy and spend as much time possible exploring and learning to navigate the world together. I love enriching them through homeschooling. My husband and I have taken on 2 free pregnancies and births and loved every moment of them.

I started AHANA with the intention to restore divine power in childbirth. The focus on birth and fertility services is important because birth has become a surgical event when it truly is a sacred right of passage. I am here for those that are in need of natural birth and fertility support.

our mission

Elephants inspire my work and embody the spirit of Ahana. They are wise, naturally empathetic, pregnant for 2 years at a time (that's strength to me), they have deep family bonds, and are vegan like me!

Ahana Birth Services specializes in care for families of African, Hispanic, Asian and Native American decent. Nonetheless, families of all colors and statures depend on our foundation. Maternal Mortality rates are increasing year by year due to factors including but not limited to racial disparities and infant- centered care.

Our care focuses on building personal relationships with each client for the purpose of supporting every experience individually. Every pregnant person is suitable for birth and we strive to teach our clients to trust their instincts. Yes, a Doula’s training aids them in determining ways to progress labor, however, maternal intuition is the lead.

It is imperative that expecting parents feel encouraged and empowered about the birth of their baby and beyond; which means being able to make informed decisions on the care of themselves and their new addition.
